The Rhine Rieslings grow on selected locations of Škalce. Both show typical and nicely expressed features of the variety (peach tree) and mineral characteristics, which are reflecting the terroir and the sites underneath the southern outskirts of the Pohorje mountain range. The wines are harmonic, fresh and drinkable. The wine-making continues in two styles: semi-dry, with the fermentation process stopped once the wine reaches a level of 10 g/l residual sugar, and sweet, where the alcoholic fermentation is interrupted earlier at the level of 50 g/l residual sugar. The maturing in bottles gives both wines additional freshness and finesse, which is also the reason for their superb ageing characteristics.
Semi-dry: Roasted pork, mountain stew of Pohorje. / Sweet: Apple strudel, Škalska cake.
